HECKSHER MUSEUM OF ART

When an architect receives a project to design, it is customary to review similar projects to ascertain how others have answered the problem and evaluate the successes and failures of their design.

01

OUTCOMES:

An ability to identify, analyze, and solve broadly-defined engineering technology problems.

02

ASSIGNMENT:

In this assignment, I was assigned to a group that was given an existing Museum to analyze (Hecksher Museum of Art). My group was tasked to gather information on the Museum, including, but not limited to Site Plan, Floor Plans, Pictures, etc. This information was to be reviewed to determine how the design has addressed the following criteria:

  • Governmental Regulations

  • Aesthetic Considerations

  • Historic Influences

  • Cultural Considerations

  • Environmental Factors

  • Construction Standards, Materials, and Details

03

PRESENTATION:

For this presentation, we divided up the labor so that everyone in the group had a chance to add the parts of the slides they thought had the best points in explaining the museum.
