Form & Function

The main goal of this project was to take an object from everyday household items with more than two functions and combine it with a bridge structure. This transforms the bridge from just a form to a form and function. The span of the bridge used was 190' with a mechanism that can open up a 30'X40' space.

Criteria:

  • 190' bridge span

  • Must clear a 30' x 40' block

  • Max height: 100'

  • No structural member greater than 20'

  • No structural members in the water
